In 1956, the American headquarters of IBM decided to open a development laboratory in the Netherlands. In the design of this office, the garden design, exterior, interior and details are one inextricable whole. The large-scale integrated approach to design and technology of this project signified a breakthrough at Architecten van Mourik. The facility consisted of a relaxed composition of low volume halls with a raised office volume towering above it. After IBM left Uithoorn in 2002 the halls have been demolished, but luckily the tower remained and is now an icon and the eye-catcher in the new residential Park Krayenhoff. The tower is transformed into a luxury residential building with three loft apartments of 210 square meters with windows all around. The building is constructed around a concrete core 6 by 6 meters, which include giving place to the elevator, which opens into each apartment. In the partially underground garage are three parking spaces per dwelling included.
